Ludlow is a quaint sleepy town in Maine that borders the coastal village of Castle Rock. Ludlow is home to a burial mound that brought buried pets back to life. Such was the case when a cat named Church, which belonged to the Creed family, was killed. The Creeds buried in the pet cemetery, unaware of the supernatural forces at play. The cat came back from the dead, but was deranged. Shortly thereafter, the Creed's young son, Gage, was tragically killed in an automobile accident. Despite all warnings by neighbor Jed Crandall, father Louis Creed buried his son in the pet cemetery. Gage was resurrected, but possessed a murderous demeanor, which satiated by killing Jud Crandall and his own mother, Rachel Creed.
